Huawei has patented two smartphones with a sliding display. The WIPO Worldwide Organization recently published data on a Huawei patent for two smartphones of different designs with sliding displays.
This patent was originally filed in 2019 with CNIPA. He was then added to the WIPO global database. It is worth saying that Huawei is the most active applicant – the technology giant invests in various research and development. Apparently, such a company policy is already bearing fruit.
Based on the sketches, this device has something similar to the design of the Mate X and Mate Xs smartphones. However, instead of an in-folding design, the company proposed a pull-out display design, preparing two versions of a new design for mobile devices at once.
The first option is conditionally designated as model “A”. The main feature of this device is a retractable screen. The size of the display for this type of design is significantly smaller than that of the model “B”, and without frames. In addition, the design of the device allows you to slide the display from the right side back by simply moving your finger.
The rear panel is complemented by a 3-module main camera, and the front is missing. Therefore, to create a selfie, users will have to turn the phone over and use the main camera Huawei has patented two smartphones with a sliding display. Thanks to the design features, you can increase the useful screen area by about 30%. A special mechanism will prevent accidental extension of the display.
Model “B”, in turn, received a completely different disclosure scheme – the flexible display shifts to the left. In this case, the sliding part of the screen is significantly smaller than the main body. This is due to the fact that the main camera unit is also located on the left side. Thanks to the features of this type of design, the useful screen area can be increased by 50%.
